Mattia Cuttini • Artist Spotlight

What got you in to Crypto art?

I was already playing with cryptocurrencies and then mr. HEX0x6C pushed me to “tokenize” my works.

Where do you get your inspiration?

Everything I do, in one way or another, has to do with popular culture. But I think the biggest influence on my art comes from the old Creepy Magazines of the 50s and 60s even more than the comics. I always use concrete graphic forms, solid colors, few gradients, but above all because of the imagery. Monsters, skulls, fantastic situations, futuristic visions, beings from outer space or come from the deep sea.

What do you think of traditional artwork?

Traditional work is often the base for my digital works. Sometimes happens the opposite: digital pieces make me do something in traditional way. Maybe digital and traditional are two faces of the same thing.

Do you think your art is fulfilling a purpose?

Sometimes I try to give people a different way to see things, but I really don’t know if this fulfilling there is or not. I rather prefer leave people with doubts.

Final question, what’s next for you as an artists??

A great 2019. Still don’t know really. At the moment I’m still playing around with my “Rubberstamp Artworks”, maybe next year I’ll do a new kickstarter project with a little twist on this concept. Still thinking about it!
